Main Task - Post Production - Diary Entry

After all of the filming has been completed, then it was now time to complete the editing process. Throughout the duration of the filming we came across a couple of problems, these problems were, that one of the actors was unable to pronounce some of the words that were in the script therfore we had to alter on the spot, then after the filming alter the script on the scribd. One of the other problems was that the light was still to bright at the time we intended to film in the first place, therefore we had to wait longer to start filming, resulting in the actor which was playing the villain having other plans and needing to leave the setting early than expected. The way we resolved this was by filming the part with the villian in first.

Overall the filming was a success because we were able to complete all of the scenes and we were able to do some second and third takes of shots to select from a range choosing the best angle or lighting.

Preliminary Task - Diary Entry

Once as a class we were set this production, we were then put into the groups by the teachers. I was completing the production with Michael Raucci, once assigned into the groups we had to come up with a basic idea on what we wanted the production to be about.

Our Idea was about a young child has had to deal with his mother dying at a early stage in his life, he needs to go and see a therapist to help him through this event but one time when he visit the therapist something strange happens.

After all of the filming was completed and the production was successful, and after facing some problems along the way such as actors not be able to act and cameras being unavailable, when then went on to complete the evaluation.

Main task - Pre Production - Recce

Below are some pictures just recently took for our Recce.

The images show inside the house, which is where it will start. Some of the pictures will then show the street that the two detectives walk through. And finally there is some pictures of the Alley way where it finishes.

The first few images show the room where Detective Dixon and Detective Miles will have their conversation at the start. Currently in the images the room looks modern, but we will try our best to give it some kind of old fashioned feel.

Main Task - Pre Production - Risk Assessment

The two pictures below show the completed risk assessment for our Film Noir opening.

Pre Production - Target Audience

Different film genres have different target audiences. As I have looked at recent studies that people have completed, it appears to show that the age range of people that are interested are 40 to 80 year olds, the main reason why this is because this type of film was the type that this age range grew up watching throughout their childhood. On the other there is also a younger aged audience interested in Film Noir for the reasons of gaining a better understanding of what the movie concept was in the 1940's, from uderstanding lifestyles and how the criminal underworld has been portrayed from then, to now.

The target gender is aimed towards males, this is distinguished by the entire planning, making and history of film noir, an example of this which attracts males is an attractive femme fatal. Another reason for the male audience is that the basic Film Noir plot is based around the ciminal underworld and the cases that a detective has tov complete and the tasks ahead.
